Why Music Lessons?
Working one on one with a master teacher assists student's in tapping into their creative energy. Accelerating the learning process promotes self confidence and discipline to achieve excellence, qualities that will help them strive for success in other aspects of life. 

Music lessons can open the door to more advanced ensemble participation in junior and senior high school and possibly even into college. Individual attention assists inexperienced students establish a firm musical foundation and will provide the advanced musician the environment necessary to grasp and refine the more difficult technical and musical concepts.  

His Lesson Program

Kevin teaches all levels of trumpet.  He also teaches beginning through intermediate levels on trombone, baritone, french horn, and tuba. His advanced students are consistently awarded superior ratings at state solo and ensemble contests. Many of his students have continued music in college either as music majors or as an activity.  Kevin also teaches electric bass to students wishing to excel at playing bass for school jazz ensembles. He believes students can learn self discipline, commitment, and develop positive self esteem through making music.


Kevin's training as a classical musician and jazz specialist in performance and education, provides students a well rounded and unique learning opportunity. His teaching program and style will accelerate the learning process while creating a fun and positive student experience. His studio is designed to make the most of music technology to assist in developing the skills students need for the next level.

He teaches students from diverse backgrounds and schools:
Explorer Middle School, Gateway Middle School, Heatherwood Middle School, Home School-Connections ,Valley View Middle School, Voyager Middle School, Cascade High School, Glacier Peak High School, Jackson High School, Kamiak High School, and Snohomish High School.  

Kevin periodically gathers together young musicians to create unique performance ensemble programs which involve classical, jazz, and contemporary music styles. Recent examples include a Latin jazz performance ensemble (see Mill Creek Music Company), and a classical *trumpet octet* which achieved a 3rd Place Award in 2009 at the Washington Music Educators Solo and Ensemble Competition.
